The Independent (opens in new tab) reported that Prince Philip was hospitalized last Tuesday due to "poor health" and is currently spending six nights in the hospital. Buckingham Palace has not disclosed the specific reason for the 99-year-old royal's hospitalization last June, but it is known that it is unrelated to COVID-19.
After the Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to London's King Edward VII Hospital (opens in new tab) on Tuesday evening, Buckingham Palace issued a statement. 'The Duke's admission to hospital is a precautionary measure on the advice of His Royal Highness' doctor. The Duke will remain in hospital for a few days for observation and rest."
