Meghan Markle says she lied to casting directors to become an actress.

Even Meghan Markle (opens in new tab) feels like a fraud at times.

In an unearthed video from her "Suits" days, Meghan called herself (opens in new tab) a "con artist" while talking about the little white lies she told to get her big break in show business.

"I was tufted hartelayed, which means I pretended to be in a union ...... I must have done so: ...... It was a pilot called Century City with Héctor Elizondo," she explained at a panel discussion to promote her former USA series Suits. When I got there, they said, ...... They said, 'You're union.' I was like, 'Sure, I'm in a union. ' And they were like, 'Oh, yeah. And then I wasn't.'"

The story is hilarious in hindsight (and the lie quite harmless), but at the time Megan said (open in new tab) she was still facing some repercussions for that lie.

"To this day," she added, "those casting directors would never hire me." I was a fraud."

Princess Meghan may call it a "fraud," while others may call it a great showcase of improvised acting. Either way, there is no doubt that casting directors are overjoyed to have Meghan on board.
