Chrissy Teigen shares heartwarming story of Tom Hanks at inauguration

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend headed to Washington, D.C. (opens in new tab) this week for the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and Legend performed Wednesday night on the Tom Hanks-hosted prime-time special "Celebrating America," in which he performed. Teigen documented rehearsals for the event on Instagram, sharing a very sweet anecdote about Hanks in the process.

Teigen posted a photo of herself relaxing in the family trailer before the primetime special (she was wearing a special pair of Casadei gray knee-high boots, which unfortunately appear to be sold out everywhere). In the caption, he revealed that he was listening to Hanks' hosting rehearsal.

"Listening to Tom Hanks rehearse on a hot mic," Teigen writes, "I can see why he is a respected and beloved working icon in this industry." I was waiting for one of those "hurry up because it's fucking cold," but there was nothing. Nothing. Just kindness and professionalism. What a man. Anyway, I love my boots too."

On inauguration day, Teigen reflected on her newfound sobriety (open in new tab) in a moving post on Twitter. She posted a gorgeous photo of herself, Legend, and their children Luna and Miles looking at the Washington Monument, Miles on Dad's shoulder and Luna holding Mom's hand.

Teigen captioned the photo with a candid message of gratitude. 'We ran up the stairs for this shot. We ran up the stairs for this shot."
