While some, like the State Banquet, are on public record, the Queen is also known for her private communications with the President.

In keeping with that tradition, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Queen sent a private message (open in new tab) prior to Joe Biden's inauguration. The content of the message has not yet been confirmed, but it was reportedly a message (opens in new tab) congratulating the incoming U.S. president.

The Queen has historically been politically neutral and rarely comments on American leaders, but that has not stopped the public from speculating about her feelings toward the president.
