J.Lo Wears Not One, But Two Chanel Head-to-Toe Looks to Biden's Inauguration

For Jennifer Lopez, this year was a career highlight. Her stunning Versace-clad debut at halftime of the Super Bowl in Miami last February created a social media sensation with her performance and the fact that she looked so flawless at age 50. Last month, she headlined Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, where she spoke for those of us sheltered at home in sequined Balmain bodysuits and shoulder pads. For this memorable occasion, she wore a full Chanel ensemble in suffragette white.

Lopez and her husband, Alex Rodriguez, traveled with Biden during the presidential campaign and, more importantly, called attention to the skewed impact of the coronavirus in the Latino community. Biden's transition team made it a policy of Wednesday's events to remember the victims of the pandemic.

Tony Allen, CEO of the Presidential Inaugural Committee, said of the event's performers (opens in new tab): "They will articulate the grand diversity of our great nation and help us honor and celebrate the tradition of the presidential inauguration."

The star did not stick to a curvy, Swarovski encrusted look on stage, instead wearing a ruffled silk blouse and floor-length tweed coat with Chanel pearl earrings, pearl bracelet, and pearl belt. Underneath, however, the sparkle of sequined wide-leg pants peeked out.

A few hours earlier, she wore another Chanel outfit on the steps of the Capitol:

This multi-hyphenate performer sang a beautiful medley of "This Land is Your Land" and "America the Beautiful," during which she Speaking in Spanish ("One nation, undivided, under God, all free and just"), she performed her iconic hit "Let's Get Loud."

And while it may have been her most subdued performance to date, J.Lo's customary radiance was still there, made even more so by the giant emerald engagement ring shining in the bright D.C. sun.
