Lady Gaga gives stunning performance at Biden's inauguration
Step aside, Katniss Everdeen. Lady Gaga saves the day. The Biden v. Harris swearing-in ceremony at Wednesday's presidential inauguration opened with the national anthem. She chose a custom-made Schiaparelli Haute Couture outfit designed by Daniel Rosebery. She wore a fitted navy cashmere jacket, a red silk pleated skirt, and, to top it off, a dove brooch with an olive branch (a symbol of peace (opens in new tab)) and a golden microphone. She completed the look with a crown of braids.
Much of the social media applauded Gaga's beautiful performance (although we at Marie Claire hoped she could somehow manage to sing the last verse of Shallow...) . Others made fun of how different Gaga was among the politicians (very well-dressed politicians (opens in new tab), but modest nonetheless). Needless to say, the pigeon pin was big: ...... It was as if she could run for political office in a big way.
