Kate Middleton tells royal fans she regrets last year's Christmas outfit
Kate Middleton always looks great (opens in new tab), but there are days when even she suffers from outfit regret. One of those days was apparently last Christmas.
Christmas 2019 was a big year for the Cambridge family (opens in new tab). Not only did Prince William and Kate Middleton (opens in new tab), along with other senior royals, go on the royal family's annual Christmas walk to attend services at St. Mary Magdalen in Sandringham, but their oldest children also participated. It was not the first time Prince George (opens in new tab) and Princess Charlotte (opens in new tab) had attended church at Christmas, of course, but it was the first time they had participated in the royal tradition (opens in new tab) of walking to church flanked by spectators.
Kate dressed Prince George and Princess Charlotte (opens in new tab) perfectly for the occasion. George in a smart little suit and Charlotte in a green coat that looked like it came out of Kate's own closet (opens in new tab).
But apparently Kate was not a big fan of this look. Chatting with a 19-year-old royal fan named Rachel Anville, the Duchess of Cambridge said it was the wrong outfit for the weather that day.
"Kate was talking to my daughter about the outfit and she felt it was too hot and said, 'I really shouldn't have worn this,'" Rachel's mother told Metro (opens in new tab). 'I'm talking about dolls with Charlotte and my daughter is talking about fashion with Kate. It was a genuine discussion, not fake; it lasted about a minute, but it was tailored to my daughter; it was like talking to a friend. It was totally different from the average person."
To be fair, we've all been there.
