Spending the holidays (opens in new tab) with in-laws is nerve-wracking for anyone, but when the in-laws are literally the most famous family in the world, the pressure is taken to the next level. In an interview with the 2016 ITV special (opens in new tab) "Our Queen at Ninety" (opens in new tab), Kate revealed what her first Christmas with her in-laws was really like and how she chose the perfect gift for the Queen She opened up about the following.

"I remember my first Christmas at Sandringham. And I was wondering what to get the Queen for her Christmas present," Kate revealed to People (opens in new tab). 'What should I give the queen? I thought back to what I would give my own grandparents. And I thought, 'I'll make something for them. But I decided to make my grandmother's recipe for chutney."

The homemade gift was a big hit, and Kate thinks that's why.

"I was a little worried," says Kate, "but the next day I noticed it on the table. But the next day I noticed it was on the table."

"I think this simple gesture helped me a lot, and I've noticed that she's done it many times since. [Simple gestures are the best gestures.
