Meghan Seastarion on the best advice she ever got from Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
When you're an artist like Meghan C. Stallion, there are few fine people to give you advice. Meg appeared on Wednesday's "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and shared the best advice she has received from two reigning music monarchs.
First, Meghan talked about her collaboration with Beyonce on "Savage Remix" and how much it meant to her. She said, "The first time I saw Destiny's Child in concert was at a rodeo. When I was little, I was like, 'Wow! I remember thinking, "Someday I want to do that too. "Just being from Houston, you know what Beyonce is to us. She's like the standard. So now I get to talk to Beyoncé and I'm like, 'Girlfriend! Pat me on the back,'"
.
When asked who gives the best advice, Megan said, "Jay-Z gives me fun advice. If I'm having a bad day, he'll say, 'Megan, sweetheart, drive a boat somewhere. Cheer up. Cheer up and have fun. ' He gives me more 'hot girl' advice." As for Queen Bey? Beyonce is like, "Look, Queen, you need to step it up." She puts it in a nicer way."
Meghan also spoke about the conservative backlash against her record-breaking single with Cardi B, "WAP." (open in new tab) After thanking Cardi for inviting her to collaborate on the song, Megan said, "I feel like that was really kind of weird. I know the Republicans have had a bad year, and maybe they needed to take out their frustrations somewhere."
[10"But I want to tell them, 'Thanks for the stream. Because I don't know if we would be here if it wasn't for you guys,'" Megan joked.
"But those people are crazy. Why do they care about my WAP?'
