Kat Graham shares her love of 80s jewelry
It's never too late to start a jewelry collection. Kat Graham knows this better than anyone: In her Marie Claire series "Precious Metals," she reveals that it was only recently that she began collecting various pieces of jewelry. My jewelry hobby," she says, "is being at a house party somewhere in the Hollywood Hills at 3 a.m. in the '80s, and Paula Abdul is there. Graham says she likes oversized pieces that are reminiscent of the '80s.
During the quarantine, Graham explains: "I decided to look for gold earrings from the 80s. I don't like traditional jewelry and I don't like big, opulent, ridiculously expensive things. I don't like traditional jewelry and I don't like big, opulent, ridiculously expensive pieces. I grew up very poor and I don't want to be showing off jewelry that I don't own." And when Graham doesn't feel "particularly fabulous" one day, jewelry lifts her spirits. Put on a pair of strong diamond earrings, pour a glass of wine, and everything falls into place." [For example, her mother's bracelet from the '80s, or a necklace made of rolled up newspapers she got in Africa that look like beads. Graham also says she loves Piercing Pagoda necklaces, and fans can actually purchase one of her favorites from the brand here (opens in new tab).
