Beyonce's daughter Blue Ivy Carter narrates "Hair Love" audiobook

[Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyonce and Jay Z, has already won BET and NAACP awards at age 8: for her collaboration with Saint Jhn and Wizkid on "Brown Skin Girl" from the album "The Gift". Blue Ivy narrated the audiobook for "Hair Love," based on the short film by Matthew A. Cherry, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film earlier this year. The film, about a black father learning to do his daughter's hair, was adapted into a picture book last year with illustrations by Vashti Harrison and will soon be made into an animated series on HBO Max, Variety reported (opens in new tab).

Cherry shared the audiobook's introductory clip on Twitter on Monday, debuting the expert (and very cute) narration by Blue Ivy. Dreamscape Presents, by Matthew A. Cherry, narrated by Blue Ivy Carter."

Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, congratulated her granddaughter on her achievement in an Instagram post on Monday, sharing a clip of Blue Ivy's narration with a congratulatory caption." WOW ! I just heard my granddaughter narrate !!!! She killed it !!!!" Knowles-Lawson wrote. 'I can't wait to download the voice over of her reading! This book was so wonderful for our young black girls to love their hair!!!"
