Royal experts predict baby name for Princess Eugenie
For Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank (opens in new tab), parenthood is getting closer and closer. So naturally, royal experts are predicting the baby name they will choose, and bookmakers are fairly certain that their baby's name will start with the letter "A."
As People reports (opens in new tab), the top girl's guess is Alice, with odds of 9/1; Prince Philip's mother and Eugenie's great-grandmother is Princess Alice of Battenberg. Arthur and Henry are lined up as the top boy's prospects, also at odds of 9/1. Prince Harry's real name is Henry, which would be a touching tribute to the Duke of Sussex, as Eugenie and Harry are famously close. Arthur, on the other hand, is a popular middle name among the royal family, shared by Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Louis.
According to the BBC, the new baby will not have a royal title (opens in new tab). However, because Brooksbank himself has no royal title, the baby will not inherit a royal title; the BBC reports that "because he or she comes from a royal female line and because Mr. Brooksbank has no royal status, he or she will be a plain Master or Miss Brooksbank." It reports (opens in new tab). Unless, of course, the Queen intervenes and gives Mr. Brooksbank an earldom or a title directly to the new baby. We will have to wait and see for a while.
