And young William reportedly argued fiercely with his father and took his mother's side when conflict arose between the parents.

In a 1995 BBC Panorama interview (opens in new tab) with journalist Martin Bashir, Diana discussed how she explained her divorce from Charles to her sons. She said, "William asked me if I could answer his questions about what happened, and I did. He said, 'Is that why our marriage fell apart?' And I replied, 'There were three of us in this marriage, and media pressure was a factor, so it was very difficult for the two of us to stay together.
