Chrissy Teigen Explains Why She Released Pregnancy Photos

Chrissy Teigen spoke publicly about the loss of her son Jack (opens in new tab) for the first time on Tuesday in a heartfelt Medium post (opens in new tab). She explained why she asked her husband, John Legend, to take pictures throughout the process, and responded to cruel Internet comments that were apt to criticize her decision.

"No matter how uncomfortable I was, I asked my mother and John to take pictures. I explained to a very hesitant John that I needed the pictures. 'He had to do it,' Teigen writes. 'He hated it. He hated it. He hated it. Just as he needed to remember us kissing at the end of the aisle, just as he needed to remember the tears of joy after Luna and Miles. And I absolutely needed to share this story."

"I can't express how much I care that you don't like my photos. I care very little that you don't like the photos.

"And most of all, these pictures are not for anyone but those who have had these experiences and those who are curious to know what it is like to go through something like this. These pictures are only for those who need them. What others think is not important to me."
