Mariah Carey Breaks the Internet with Hilarious Tweet About Marie Curie
Mariah Carey can release no new singles, movies or books at all, delete social media, never appear in public again, and still maintain her unassailable icon status. And yet, she has so much to offer us! Her latest film, with 223,000 likes! and a hilarious tweet about Marie Curie, the famous twin Nobel Prize-winning chemist and physicist who defined an era. [Comedian Eileen Mary O'Connell tweeted on Monday, "I'm thinking about the time I told someone I was distantly related to Marie Curie and a guy explained to me that it's pronounced Mariah Carey." The tweet went viral and caught the attention of Carey herself, who decided to work her magic. Quoting O'Connell's tweet, she wrote: " She has two Nobel Prizes and I have two Diamond albums. Here it is! Perfect tweet!
Earlier this week, "Vulture" published an interview with Carey in which she discusses her infamous appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in 2008 (opens in new tab). On this show, DeGeneres tried to get Carrie to drink champagne and announce that she was pregnant." That moment was extremely uncomfortable. It was really hard to deal with the after-effects of that," she recalled.
"I had a miscarriage," Carrie continued, "and I wasn't ready to tell anyone." I don't want to throw anyone under the bus already, but I didn't enjoy the moment." She added, "There was empathy that I could apply to those moments I wanted to run. But what was I to do?
