The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are helping to keep Princess Diana's memory alive while across the pond in California (opens in new tab).
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the royal couple volunteered at the Preschool Learning Center in Los Angeles, spending the morning in the organization's garden replanting flowers and healthy food with young children. August 31 also marked the 23rd anniversary of the death of Prince Harry's mother, Princess Diana, and Prince Harry and Princess Meghan planted Forget-Me-Not seeds, a favorite of the late Princess Diana, in her memory.
In addition to forget-me-nots, the Duke and Duchess planted petunias, California wildflowers, tomatoes, pumpkins, and sweet peas. After a morning of gardening (which included singing and dancing while getting their hands dirty with dirt), the couple also took time to read several books about gardening, vegetables, and planting, including the children's classic "Jack and the Beanstalk," to the preschoolers. [The Preschool Learning Center is part of the Assistance League of LA, which works to improve the lives of needy children in the community through philanthropy, dedication, and compassionate programs. At the Preschool Learning Center, the Assistance League works to provide quality childcare to students ages 3 to 5 from low-income families in the surrounding community.
