After four seasons, the core idea behind the Netflix reality series Too Hot to Handle is easily accessible to even the most casual viewer. A group of sex-crazed bachelors who thought they were signing up for a debaucherous vacation (and the influencer fame that comes with it) instead meet Lana, a sentient cone who challenges them to develop a meaningful relationship, not just for fleeting sex. One noble soul becomes the cone's cop, trying to make sure the pot stays heaped (while at the same time preventing himself the chance to win the prize), while the rule-breakers take up most of the screen time. After a series of times when even the workshops don't change much, each season lives or dies by the personalities and charms of its main cast.

The first four episodes of Season 5 arrived on Netflix on July 14, and so far, the cast of Too Hot to Handle Season 5 has focused on clashing desires. Each couple is relatively fleeting, and the screen focuses on a group of contestants vying for a person's affections, making it hard to find moments of sweet chemistry. However, it is possible that an outstanding couple will emerge from the chaos of the first episode. (Kayla and Seb from Season 4 are still together as of June 2023.) British contestant Lewis Russell grabbed attention from the first moments of the season and immediately caught the interest of three women: Londoner Megan Thompson, California native Hannah Brooke, and Houston hottie Christine O'Banor. The performers were left to their own devices during the day-long yacht ride, and each of the three took the initiative to talk to Louis. Each encounter escalated a bit: Megan just chatted with Louis, Christine let him put sunscreen on her ass, and Hannah gave him a massage and a kiss. All three also asked him to share their beds that night, and he said yes to all three. At the end of the night, however, he chose to keep his promise to Hannah, and Christine exploded in frustration.

The next day, Louis, apparently continuing to think with another appendage besides his brain, made a kissing pact with Isaac, the two of them violating the double rule and kissing their partners in an attempt to share the blame. When Lana revealed that Hannah and Louis had kissed repeatedly, Christine became even more upset and determined. That night, she invited Louis to the beach, where they kissed, and Louis promised to change bed partners soon after he briefly disappointed Hannah. He then kissed Hannah when they were together in bed.

Lana exposed before Louis had a chance to come clean to Hannah, and both women were left angry that he had played with their emotions. In the aftermath, Louis had to decide which woman he wanted to have a relationship with, and he wanted to do it with Christine. Christine was still angry, but decided to give him another chance, and they began to grow emotionally deeper as they shared a bed and attended their first workshop. However, the big twist comes when Lana sends Christine on a date with Trey, a new model from Chicago, and declares that the rules don't apply to her.

Whether or not Christine kissed Trey is left hanging in the air as a cliffhanger, but if the teaser edit is to be believed, it appears that in the aftermath of the date Christine and Louis remain a couple. Instead, the question is whether Louis will remain faithful, perhaps because after Louis is sent off on his date, we see a moment where Christine says, "Lana, give me back my man." As for their status after the show, neither of them have shared any information about their relationship status on Instagram in the past year. Louis follows Christine on Instagram, but she does not follow him back. (0]

Houston contestant Courtney Randolph and New Jersey resident Isaac Francis hit it off early and became a couple on the first night. They were another couple caught in a double rule-breaking pact, breaking several rules, but most of the fervor was (understandably) directed at Louis. They were not involved in a lust triangle, and everything seemed to be smooth sailing.

But when Lana sent Isaac out on a no-rules date with Yazmin, a bottle girl from Montevideo, Uruguay, everything changed. Isaac, for whom Latinas are his weakness, immediately becomes infatuated with her and kisses her during their secret date. He also puts his arm around her when they return to the villa, hinting at the possibility of changing bed partners in the next episode.

Neither of them has given any clues on social media about their fate after the show ends. (Netflix reality shows are practiced at sealing off spoilers at this point.) The two follow each other on Instagram, so perhaps they are still close after filming.

Swiss contestant Elise Hutchinson quickly becomes interested in both Englishman Alex Snell and Arizonan Hunter Lonigro, and finds herself at the center of a love triangle from the start. Alex first approached Ellis on the day of the yacht, but Ellis admitted that his attempts at flirting were a bit awkward and all they did was chat. Later, Hunter made a move, and although the conversation was awkward, they mounted a kiss, after which Ellis decided to share a bed with him.

Alex was still interested in Elise, but decided to befriend Megan Thompson, also British, and they began to hit it off. However, Alex thought that Elys and Hunter were happy together, but when she saw Alex's attention on Megan, she really reconsidered. As a result, Lana asked Hunter and Elise out on a date, during which Lana told Elise to decide between the two men once and for all. Elise chose Alex, and a disappointed Hunter returned to the villa alone.

On Alex's part, Lana informed him of Elise's decision and asked him to choose between her and Megan. He chose to go on a date with Eliz and left a depressed Megan alone in the villa. With all that drama out of the way, the new couple, Elise and Alex, began sharing a bed in the middle of episode 4. So will Eris and Alex stay together until the end?" The only clue after filming is that the two are following each other on Instagram.
