Keke Palmer is bringing back blue eyeshadow.

Keke Palmer is no stranger to the spotlight, but this month was especially so. Just two weeks ago, she won the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Award for Best Game Show Host, becoming the first black woman to win or be nominated in this category in the award's history. At the event, she pulled out all the stops, capturing everyone's attention in an all-maroon ensemble with complementary lip color and wavy blonde balayage. She quickly proved that she was a celebrity to watch in terms of both achievement and beauty, and she proved that point yet again by posting a new stunning photo on Instagram. [over 100,000 likes! ], the photo shows Palmer wearing bright blue eye makeup, pink blush, and a nude yet glossy lip. The eye makeup was, of course, the star of the show, an ombré style that was darker around the edges of the eyes and thinner as it approached the brow bone. The same silverish blue line was subtly drawn under the eyes as well as on the upper lids, and the upper and lower waterline was traced with black eyeliner. This look contrasted nicely with her rosy blush and nude lips, which were lined with a slightly darker liner, a nod to the 90s-inspired lip liner trend that has been sweeping celebrity beauty lately. The overall look is thanks to celebrity makeup artist Kenya Alexis, who has worked with Palmer along with Victoria Monet, Saweetie, Rizzo, and others.

Another aspect of the Palmer look that I loved was her hair, which was loose with a deep side part and flowing waves, channeling Old Hollywood glamour. Palmer has recently worn her hair in a variety of shades, from cherry red to platinum blonde, but this time she opted for medium brown.

The caption of Palmer's photo is an ironic reference to Shakespeare's Othello, warning readers that a jealous enemy lurks in plain sight. With good looks as good as Palmer's, one can hardly blame her for fearing such things.
