Meet the "Physical: 100" Season 2 Winners

After nine episodes of blood, sweat, and tears (especially a lot of sweat), Season 2 of "Physical: 100" has come to a close, and the Netflix reality series brought together 100 contestants - Olympians, fitness celebrities, professional bodybuilders, and general enthusiasts - to see who began by determining who was the strongest. After a fierce contest of strength between individuals and teams, only four remained in the end: Crossfitter Amotti, rugby player Andre Jin, Season 1's Hong Bom-suk, and South African actor Justin Harvey.

The final battle for the ㌆300 million (about $220,000) prize for Season 2 was not an easy one. Finalists had to win three tough rounds, including holding their torso bust as long as possible and attempting an "Infinite Squat," which added up to 250 pounds of weight. In the end, Amotti beat Hong Bom-suk in the pole-pushing challenge and finished the competition with the win.

Amotti was cheered on by many fans on his way to victory and had an impressive fan base even before joining the series; to learn more about the Physical:100 Season 2 winner, read on.

Amotti (real name Kim Jae Hong) is a 31-year-old YouTuber who posts mostly CrossFit exercise videos and vlogs. He used to be a competitive CrossFitter and was ranked 6th in the men's division of the Republic of Korea in 2020.

After an injury, he appears to have retired from competition and turned his attention to his YouTube channel, which now has 166,000 channel subscribers; in addition to "Physical:100," he competed in the bodybuilding competition "Show Me Your Body" last year.

Prior to the finals of episode 9, Amotti shared his training history with his fellow finalists. He said he started CrossFit after he was discharged from mandatory military service and set a goal to become a "famous CrossFit athlete." However, he was seriously injured in a car accident and his health failed.

"I broke my ankle and thought I would never be able to work out again," he says in the episode.

"I can't use my ankle like I used to, but I'm thankful I can still work out."

In an April 2 interview with TV Guide's Cat Moon, Amotti elaborated on the accident, recalling that he was riding his scooter to work at the gym when a car crushed his ankle, resulting in 10 hours of surgery. He explained, "That's when the doctor told me I might not be able to walk, let alone work out."

"I thought I might never walk again, much less work out or do anything I like. All kinds of things went through my mind, like, 'If that's the case, how am I going to live now?' At that time, my mother came to Seoul and took care of me for about a month. Seeing my mother taking care of me and being there for me, I knew I could not collapse here. I am proud of myself for having survived that time. And I want to say thank you to the person I was then for allowing me to be the person I am now."

In his closing speech after being announced as the winner of Season 2, Amotti spoke about his dedication and respect for his fellow contestants.

"Since I decided to participate in 'Physical: 100,' my daily goal has been to work hard and have no regrets at any point. My determination to never give up has led me to this amazing result. To the other 99 contestants who participated in this journey with me, thank you so much."

Amotti is a sociable member of the exercise community in Seoul, Korea. His Instagram is filled with group photos of his workout buddies at the gym Sweat on Seoul; celebrities who frequent Sweat on Seoul include Physical: 100 Season 1 contestant Karo (the gym's owner), Yoon Sung-bin, actor Park Hae-jin, and YouTuber Lui.

Speaking to TV Guide, Amotti revealed that he received advice from Yoon, a semifinalist in season one and a fan favorite, before season two." I talked to Sung Bin about this and he told me to take as much rest as possible because the filming period is going to be quite long. He also told me to take care of myself so I don't get injured."

Since "Physical: 100" Season 2 was filmed last year, several of Amotti's fellow Season 2 cast mates have appeared on his social networking sites, collaborating on YouTube videos with Hong Beom-seok, Kim Ji-hyuk, Kim Min-su, and Kang So-young. He is also an unlikely friend of Netflix Korea reality star Lee Seok-ji of "Singles Inferno" Season 3.

Unfortunately, fans should not wait for Amotti's possible appearance on the popular dating show. When asked if he would ever consider appearing on Singles Inferno, Amotti told TV Guide So Singles Inferno is not something I can be a part of."
