Kate Beckinsale reveals that her mother "happened to be in the same cancer hospital" as King Charles.

Actress Kate Beckinsale, who recently addressed her own health issues, is back in the public eye, opening up about her family's history of cancer and the parallels with the royal family.

Speaking at the Kings Trust 2024 Global Gala in New York on Thursday, May 2, the Underworld star revealed that her mother was a patient at the same hospital where King Charles is being treated for an unspecified type of cancer.

"[My mother] happened to be in the same cancer hospital," she said, referring to her mother's recent visit for a checkup, "People" reports.

"I hope everyone's doing better. I'm sick of cancer.

The actress continued that she was "impressed" by "how open" the monarch was about having cancer. [My mother has cancer, my stepfather just died of cancer: why do you have that? I feel like. And I think it's really important to be open about personal things," he told reporters.

"I really admire that he does that," she added.

Beckinsale's biological father, Richard Beckinsale, died of a heart attack in 1979. Her mother, Judy Low, eventually remarried, and the actress became very close to her father-in-law, Roy Battersby; in January, Beckinsale announced via Instagram that her father-in-law had also passed away after a "brief illness."

In the same month, Beckinsale also announced that her father-in-law had died after a "short battle.

"I still have no words," she wrote on Instagram, which was later deleted. 'I fought for you with all my might. Oh, Roy ...... I am so sorry I lost."

Beckinsale herself spent nearly a month in the hospital, battling undisclosed health issues. In a deleted Instagram post, Beckinsale documented her hospital stay and seemed to hint at the reasons for her extended stay." A post wearing a T-shirt with "Tummy Troubles Survivor" written on the front was also deleted. 'It's been a tough year. My parents were sick, my cat was sick, ...... I've been through a lot," Beckinsale told People. "So it's nice to come out and see friends and get a little perspective. I think we've all had a little bit of a rough year."
