It has been announced that Prince Harry will be in the U.K. next week to attend the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration at St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8 (Harry will be performing a reading). (Marie Claire had reported back in March that Harry was planning to meet his father, King Charles, while he was back in his native country for the event; more than a month later, is that information still valid? [Harry last saw father and son in February, less than 24 hours after Harry announced his cancer diagnosis on February 5, when he went to see Prince Charles at Clarence House, albeit briefly; Tatler magazine reported that "amid other signs that their relationship is warming, onlookers . are hoping that Prince Harry and the King will be able to spend some quality time together this week," the magazine reported.

The magazine reported that their meeting "hinges on the fact that they are both likely to be busy during Harry's visit." The previous day, May 6, was his son Prince Archie's fifth birthday, and last year Harry had to miss at least part of Archie's fourth birthday because Prince Charles' coronation was held on the same day. According to the Telegraph, the King also has various plans for the rest of the week now that he has returned to official duties.

Page Six takes a more pessimistic (or rather realistic) approach, headlining that the King is "too busy" to see Harry while his younger son is in London. Royal biographer Ingrid Sward, speaking to GB News, said, "I think King Charles will make an effort to see his son. He will want to see his son." She added, "I think they will be in London at the same time. So there is no real reason for Harry not to meet his father."

As for meeting his brother Prince William, Sward said of the possibility, "I don't think William and Harry will meet together." Tatler magazine noted that "it is understood that relations between the brothers remain frosty," but added that "there are definitely signs of warming between Prince Harry and the King, despite the continuing difficulties between him and William. Especially since the King has returned to public duties and his energy level seems to be increasing."

Harry himself told "Good Morning America" in February that he "appreciated the fact that I was able to get on a plane to see him and spend a little time with him. If for some reason the visit does not work out, Prince Charles is reportedly eager to invite Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet to Balmoral this summer, where the royal family spends their annual summer vacation.
