Prince Harry follows in the footsteps of his mother, Princess Diana, in visiting wounded soldiers in Nigeria.

The Duke of Sussex follows in the footsteps of his mother, the late Princess Diana, while visiting wounded soldiers in Nigeria.

On Friday, May 10, Prince Harry visited the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna. This was a heartfelt and touching encounter that reminded many royal fans of the behavior Princess Diana displayed when she visited the royal family with veterans and soldiers, as well as the sick, wounded, and disadvantaged.

The Duke of Sussex took the soldier's hand under Private Doe Sadiq and asked: "Are they helping you? The moment was captured on video by People's chief foreign correspondent Simon Perry, who posted the exchange on Instagram.

"Get well and be strong," Prince Harry told the wounded soldier, who, according to People, "had his eyesight impaired by the blast."

"He's so sweet," one royal fan commented on Perry's Instagram post."

"Just like his mother.

"I got chills seeing Harry's resemblance to Princess Diana. He is kind, compassionate, and very loving in helping others.

"Diana x2," another user posted in the comments section. In a 2017 interview with People, Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer described his late sister's practical approach during royal visits, in which she fought stigma, shame, judgment, and stereotypes and reportedly relied on her ability to be in touch with others.

"She wasn't the kind of person to wear gloves. She was very practical, and she really valued human contact." And what was really important that day was to deliver a very clear message: I am going to touch this gentleman. And you all can be present in the community where there are people who are suffering and we must help."

Prince Harry is visiting Nigeria with his wife Meghan Markle as part of the ongoing 10th anniversary of the Duke of Sussex's Invictus Games.

According to ABC News, the two have visited the Lightway Academy and met with the country's Chief of Defense Staff.

The couple has reportedly been shuttling between Abuja and Lagos during their trip.

Recently, Meghan Markle discovered that she is 43% Nigerian, making the couple's recent visit to Nigeria all the more special.

"Now, I'm not saying I'm playing favorites in our family, but since my wife has found out she's of Nigerian descent, it's going to be a little more competitive this year," Prince Harry joked in 2023, when the country participated in the Invictus Games for the first time.
