Taylor Swift Mentions Travis Kells in New Era Tour Set List
Travis Kells is now part of Taylor Swift's cultural universe.
On Thursday, May 9, the global superstar kicked off the European leg of her blockbuster Eras tour with a concert in Paris, France.
There, fans wondered if Swift would incorporate her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, into the set list for Eras.
First and foremost, the pop star performed "So High School," a song widely believed to be about her football player boyfriend, during the show. [The song's lyrics read: "I feel so high school every time I look at you / I wanna find you in a crowd just to hide from you," which seems to be specifically about Kels. For example, Swift sings, "I feel like laughing in the middle of practice / Imitating my dad again," and "You know how to handle a ball, I know Aristotle"
, but there is more: during the performance of this song, Swift and her dancers, performed a "swag surf," dancing to the song "Swag Surfin'" by Fast Life Yungstaz as Kansas City Chiefs fans celebrated during the game.
Also, according to Us Weekly, Swift's dancer, Kameron Sanders, mimicked one of Kelce's "signature touchdown celebrations" in the song. Incidentally, he is the brother of former Chiefs defensive tackle Cullen Sanders.
Essentially, Swift made the Chiefs tight end she has been dating since last summer feel more represented in her show.
As a representation of TTPD, Swift also included the following songs from her latest album in her set: "But Daddy I Love Him," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me," "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "The Smallest Us Weekly also reported that she performed "loml" in Paris.
