Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie reportedly reunite for new reality show
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reportedly working on a new reality show featuring the two 17 years after "The Simple Life" ended.
A production source told TMZ that the new show has been in the works and that Hilton and Richie have been talking about working together again for several months.
Apparently, the show has already been sold to a streaming service after a fierce bidding war and is being produced by James Corden's production company, Fulwell 73.
TMZ's sources also add that the new show will not be a revival of "The Simple Life," but will be a different concept, though they do not share what that concept will be.
We don't want to speak ill of the mood, but we definitely need to wait for official, off-the-record confirmation from someone involved in the project before calling it a decision: both Hilton and Richie posted the exact same photo collage of the two of them on Instagram on Wednesday, Fans have been speculating about it.
Ritchie and Hilton appeared on "The Simple Life" from 2003 to 2007. The show followed these two ne'po babes as they traveled across the United States, getting their hands dirty and working on farms, in fast food restaurants, and beauty salons. The show is wonderful, iconic, and unforgettable, and I have no doubt that the new project these two are taking on will be equally hilarious.
The alleged new show also proves that the friendship between the two women is stronger than ever: after a brief feud in the mid-2000s, they have since (and even before) seemed to have grown closer rapidly.
Exhibit A: Last year, Hilton celebrated Richie's birthday on Instagram with the sweetest message. She wrote at the time, "Words cannot express how grateful I am for our lifelong friendship." Awesome
