Original Story: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face an unfortunate situation at the Archwell Foundation, a charity.
On Monday, Page Six reported that a letter from California Attorney General Rob Bonta had declared Archwell "delinquent" with the State Registry of charities and fundraisers, and ordered the organization to stop soliciting and distributing funds.
"delinquency" sounds disastrous, but technically it is, but this all seems to amount to an oversight/postal error and should be resolved soon.
Basically, according to a source who spoke to page Six, the charity dropped out of good condition because the physical check Archewell sent to cover the registration fee did not arrive.
The Attorney General's letter— which was clearly the first Archwell to hear of the accident— described the delinquency as follows: "Organizations listed as delinquent are prohibited from engaging in acts that are not in good condition and require registration, including soliciting or spending charitable funds.
"Organizations may also be subject to penalties and their registration may be suspended or revoked by the Registry."
Archewell has reportedly sent a new check and should be promptly returned to good condition.
Archewell was founded in 2020 after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex resigned from their roles as Senior Royal and moved permanently to Southern California.
The organization supports several causes close to the heart of Sussex, including building a healthier Internet, improving communities, fighting misinformation and supporting mental health.
News of delinquency caught a three-day visit to Nigeria where the royal couple signed official contracts with local communities and organizations on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Following a frosty reception in Harry's home country, Britain, last week, the royal couple appeared to be welcomed with open arms in the West African country It was a great experience.
