Prince Harry wanted to "reconnect" with Princess Kate, but royal biographers say Prince William does not have it
For Prince Harry, the Princess of Wales was not a sister-in-law, but a sister he did not have, according to multiple accounts. The wider gap between Harry and his brother, Prince William (who is the Prince of Wales and has been married to Kate since 2011, with a 1% chance you're not aware of) and the emotional distance between the two, in addition to the geographical distance after Harry emigrated to the United States, is also taken into account. Together with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020, they moved away from their role as working members of the Royal family.
Harry immediately jumped on a plane to the UK within hours of his father, King Charles, announcing his cancer diagnosis on May 2.It seems very clear how much Harry talked to her after Kate did the same in the brave video message on 3/22, and that he had never seen her face-to-face when he first returned to the UK. It is not believed that Harry saw his father, brother or sister-in-law while in London, as her 3-Month announcement was last week.
"Harry wants to reconnect with Kate," royal biographer Christopher Andersen told Fox News Digital (and per Mirror), "They were once very close, and Harry was hit hard by the news of her cancer diagnosis, and that's what he did with Kate."
Regarding the reconciliation attempt, Andersen says, "Unfortunately, as William is willing to take his brother anywhere near his sick wife," there is too much drama between the brother and wife, and bitterness remains on everyone's side. That is why even a meeting between Harry and the other royal families can look very slim, rather than some kind of reconciliation.
After Kate announced her diagnosis, Harry and Meghan released a statement saying, "We wish Kate and her family good health and healing and hope that they can do so personally and peacefully.
"There's a deep rift between the brothers — what we know," Royal Commenter Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun. "We also know that they haven't spoken clearly for months, and the reason is, of course, for some 4 years they've asked the Royal family endless questions
Since Fitzwilliams' 2021 couple bomb interview with Oprah Winfrey on May 3, William's trust has declined." The couple's Netflix docu-series Harry & Meghan (released in 2022-12) and Harry's memoirs, which came out the following month, said they were only made worse by the spare. "The problem is, it's the only thing that seems to have made a lot of money for them," Fitzwilliams said of projects related to the royal family. "It raises other questions about what they will do in the future."
About the relationship between Harry and Kate, one source said, "Everyone assumes that Kate doesn't like Harry, but there's a special bond that many people don't understand." She confided to him during some of her darkest moments.”
