Prince Harry reportedly rejected King Charles's offer to stay in the royal residence on a visit to Britain
Reportedly, Prince Harry was able to stay in the Royal Family during his visit to the UK last week, but chose to stay in a hotel instead.
Friends of King Charles told the Sunday Times Royal Editor Roya Nikkhah that the Duke of Sussex had agreed to let him stay in an unspecified royal house. After the latter requested. However, despite his request being contained, Harry apparently refused the offer, but the reason is unknown.
The King's youngest child made a request following his eviction from his former British home base at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor last year.
The Duke's brief visit to his home country made a wave after it was revealed that Charles refused to meet with him, citing the full schedule.
Many royal commentators viewed this move on the part of the monarch as a deliberate "snub" to his youngest child, but the issue of the royal residence offered is even more complicated.
A spokesman for Harry implied in a statement that the Duke wanted to see his father, but Charles did not have enough time to spare for him.
However, a friend of the king who spoke to the Times noted that it would have been easy for him to meet his dad if Harry had stayed at the royal house. (However, there are many royal dwellings that this would only be the case if the house that Harry was offered was at least a neighboring house, if not the exact house that Charles was currently living in.)
"It's all very sad," one source told Nikka. "It is true that the King is understandably vigilant about his meeting with Harry, but given the propaganda circus that seems to surround all such visits, he of course agreed to see his son at the most vulnerable moments of his illness [in May], and with a very short notice.
After the King revealed his cancer diagnosis on May 2, Harry jumped on a transatlantic plane to meet him, but he was only given a 45-minute audience at the time.
"[Charles] was unlikely to roll out the red carpet at the moment this Invictus trip was announced, but doctors advised him to focus on his treatment and recovery, but the idea that he refused to find space in his diary...Well, let's say the memories may change again," the friend added.
Charles's friends also claimed that Harry had not asked to meet the king or invited him to a ceremony celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games - despite previous reports that Harry invited not only Charles but Prince William and Princess Kate to the event. These reports also claimed that the king ordered senior royals to attend his Buckingham Palace garden party instead.
In contrast, a friend of Harry told the Times that he had requested to meet his father long before the visit, and that the King would be well aware of his arrival, only if Harry was given advance notice that he would have to provide to ensure that he was provided security in the UK.
"I can't imagine that request [from Harry to Charles] fell through the gap," said a friend of the Duke."I'll know he's coming," he said."I would have known he had arrived," he said."I'll know he's coming," he said. "Even if they did not receive the request, I do not believe, but His Majesty would not have requested to see his son."It is widely known that he was coming
Another Sussex friend said, "It amazes me a lot." I fully expected them to meet. I know that's what he wanted to happen and I don't know when he'll come back.
Many royal fans thought 2 men would actually meet as they appeared to be on the road to reconciliation in recent months.
However, given the frosty reception Harry (and his wife Meghan Markle) received during a recent visit to the UK, we waited a long time for his next trip
while Sussex was received with open arms on a trip to Nigeria that flew shortly after Harry's time in the UK. It seems to have been
