Nicola Coughlan, in her words, became "very naked" in Season 3 of bridgerton — and she didn't do it for anyone but herself.

"We had a lot of control and we chose how naked we were," Coughlan said in an interview with TheSkimm.

"People said, you know, she did it to show body shamers. But I didn't do it completely selfish I did it because I wanted to do it, and there's something incredibly empowering to it.

Coughlan previously talked about shooting a "sultry" scene with co-star Luke Newton and why we chose to be this particular level of naked for them.

"You go: "OK, what do I want to show you? What I don't want to show 'what is being scripted and what do I want to add?'She told the stylist in a recent interview. "I specifically asked to include specific lines and moments.

She explained that it was her decision to be "very naked on camera." "It just felt like the biggest 'f***you' to all the conversations surrounding my body," she said. "It was incredibly empowering.

Season 3 revolves around his romance with the third Bridgerton child, Colin (played by Newton), and Penelope Featherington (played by Coughlan, also Spoiler Alert: Lady Whistle Down).
