For all intents and purposes, the modern royal family of Monaco was born of a kind thanks to the Cannes Film Festival. In 1955, an American actress named Grace Kelly, who had just won an Academy Award for Best Actress for Country Girl, led an American delegation to the famous film festival on May 4. While there, she was invited to take part in a photocall with Prince Rainier of Monaco at the Palace of Monaco, and after a series of delays, 2 people finally met in 1955-5-6, less than 1 year after that in 1956-4-19, they married and Grace Kelly transformed into Princess Grace of Monaco. As they say, the rest is history.

So it makes sense for Charlotte Casiraghi — Grace and Rainier's granddaughters, and their eldest daughter, Princess Caroline — to become fans like Cannes.
