AJ McLean seriously hates this Backstreet Boys song, calling it, not in uncertain terms, "the worst song ever"

AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys is not afraid to criticize the group's hits — as Marie Claire has previously reported, even McLean does not fully understand the lyrics of BSB's 1999 hit "I Want It That Way," but is now taking criticism one step further. People spoke to McLean, who revealed that he thinks fivesome's "worst song ever", "and how the group" will retire it for life."(Hi as anyone knows," The 31-year-old boy AJ McLean of the Imperial Gardens at the tide of the pond is naturally a favorite song of the band recorded."Fair.

The song in question 'If You Want It To Be Good Girl (Get Yourself a Bad Boy)' is from the band's 1996 debut album. (Don't worry, we will link you so that you can hear yourself."Everyone loves that song, but why?McLean said. "It's the worst song ever. We were joking at the booth [about] it sounded like a bag of cats was hitting the wall and it made the last record.Driving a nail in the coffin, he even called it "literally one of the stupidest songs of 1."

Still, the Backstreet Boys performed it in Cancun, Mexico, last month to celebrate 30 years since the group's formation. "Now we can retire it for life," McLean said. "Bury, burn, shoot, whatever!"

McLean also noted that some of the band's songs were "Siberia," "I don't want to lose you now," "I don't want to get you back," "Get another boyfriend," and so on."

McLean noted that BSB is discussing taking some of their hits. They have revealed that they are not only looking for new music — but also new music — and one on their long careers (minus, perhaps, the aforementioned "If you want it to be a good girl (make yourself a bad boy)")."We talked about the possibility of doing a Broadway musical, but it's a long process," he said.

McLean is currently touring with another boy band member, Joey Fatone of NSYNC, to support their "A Legendary Night" tour. "It's 2 hours of what I call a great organized mess," McLean said. "We're making fun of each other. We just get out there and no matter what happens, it happens. The two shows are not the same. The beginning and the end, yes, but the middle, we change every night to keep it fresh. It's a different approach, but it was very humble."

If you were in the late 1990s and early 2000s, most of us would remember very clearly that it was either Team BSB or Team NSYNC — the side was certainly chosen. But now, 25 years later (stung while writing it), it seems that the lines are blurry and can actually be like both groups. EVEN McLean gave his INPUT to HIS FAVORITE NSYNC SONG, once there was A RIVAL boy band in HIS GROUP — and he said he wanted SOME OF their songs to be Backstreet Boys TRACKS. For example, "I'm thinking about you (I'm crazy about myself)" and "This is what I promise you."He added, "It's the 'Space Cowboy' that's becoming one of my new favorites."1"It's fun to do live. It was not the first few shows, and we added that, and now it has become a staple of the show towards the end. I'm looking forward to that song.

McLean said that he and Fatone will continue touring together "until no one wants us to do it, or until both parties are pulled into their bands elsewhere.""Speaking of— there could be a possibility of a co-headlining tour of the Backstreet Boys/NSYNC in the future," McLean said, "Never say never," which turned our little millennial minds into overdrive. "But so far there is nothing on the horizon. So this [his show with Fatone] is the closest you're going to get to that part — but it's a really fun show.”
