"Bridgerton" star Jessica Madsen says if people hate Cressida Cowper, she "did my job right

Bridgerton actress Jessica Madsen, who plays Cressida Cowper in the series, doesn't care when people say they hate her character.

In a new interview with people, Madsen admitted that she gets "interesting comments and some interesting Dm" about Cressida. "I mean, people aren't her biggest fans," she added.

However, she is actually grateful for the hatred she has received from Bridgerton fans.

Madsen continued, "I don't really take those things personally. The Internet is wild. But when the people I meet appreciated the show, I like it. Oh it's always nice.

The actress expressed her love for Cressida becoming a more three-dimensional character in Season 3. She was previously portrayed as a simple adversary, but more complicated, such as her unexpected friendship with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie).

"The mask is falling off the Cressida. She has become a human being. No, we can see her human side and why she's become like her," Madsen said. "And yeah, every average girl has something under her. As everyone likes to call her, as we quote, "The average girl." It is a personal girlfriend, but hi.

Season 3 started streaming on Netflix on 5/16, and Part 2 of the season was expected to drop on 6/13. People are already going wild for it — even Queen Camilla admits that she's already binged a new episode.
