An Irish guard sends a loving message to Kate Middleton after the Palace confirms she will miss Trooping the colour review

Kate Middleton has received the sweetest message from a special source after Buckingham Palace confirmed Princess of Wales will skip the iconic Trooping of colour while she continues her preventative cancer treatment.

At 5.30 pm Thursday, Lt. Col. James Shaw, the Brigade Major of The Household Division, a British unit organizing and executing "The Color celebration," issued a special message to Middleton from the Irish guards.

"We wish the colonel of the Irish guard the best wishes for her recovery," Shaw told GB News. "And again, the Irish guards are very proud to have welcomed her as a colonel and want a really special show this year,"

Earlier that same day, Buckingham Palace announced that Middleton would not serve as an inspector in the 6-8 traditional colonel review, people reported at the time.

The traditional review serves as the final rehearsal before the annual Trooping The Colour event, also known as the extravagant Birthday parade of King Charles. The show is going to take over the royal duties for Middleton in her absence.

On 3/17 (Sunday), Kensington Palace posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing an Irish guard raising his hat and cheering 3 cheers to the Princess of Wales, who attended the event for the first time as a guard colonel after taking over the role her husband Prince William had previously held last year.

Princess Kate did not attend the parade again this year — at the time she was reportedly recovering from "planned" abdominal surgery and a short hospital stay. The event occurred before Middleton announced to the world that she was also receiving preventive treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.

The Princess of Wales is not expected to return to the royal duties she faces publicly until at least the fall, but Middleton is reportedly considering a possible cameo appearance at Trooping The Colour celebration as she is reportedly waiting for a "green light" from her doctors.

According to a recent report by The Daily Mail, Kate says she is "considering" appearing on the balcony of the famous Buckingham Palace with her family."If she feels good enough.

And, as Royal biographer Katie Nicole reported at Vanity Fair, Middleton's condition improved late.

"It was a great relief that she was tolerating drugs," one source told Nicole.
