Chris Pratt Opens up about blowing his first Hollywood paycheck of Hollywood75k
Chris Pratt admits that when he got his first substantial Hollywood salary, he blew it away in a few weeks.
In a recent interview with siriusxm's Sway In The Morning, Pratt asked if he found it difficult to spend the money he was earning when he first started his big acting job.
"Oh no," the park and recreation actor quickly said, causing laughter in the studio. "No, no. I was under the impression that I would never run out of money. The first salary I got, I said, "Are you serious?""I mean, the first big job I remember was because I lived with very little money for a long time... TV movies. I was paid paid75,000.
Then the actor breaks into the song and, in tune with the song "Careless Whisper," says, "I'm not going to wait for [the table] again." F*** you, bitches, I'm leaving.
But, he added, "and after about 2 months, I was like, "Where did that money go?"!
Pratt explained that he ended up spending it on traveling the world, jokingly expecting to buy a yacht before all the money ran out
"That was just a crazy amount of money for me," he said. "I could not imagine earning that amount. And it went very quickly.
The actor grew up modest, so earning such an amount at one time was overwhelming — he did not know how to handle it.
"We never had money growing up and no one taught me financial literacy," he said. "I didn't know what to do with the money. It was like, it would come in, I would spend it. It took me enough time to stop and say, "Okay, I started to be wise about this.I have to think for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me for me I'm going to get to the point where I'll still be fine if I stop working one day"My family will be fine.""So the kind of coming up with a financial literacy plan later in my life was like one of the steps I grew up with."
These days, Pratt, who has roles in Garfield movies, Jurassic World Series, Guardians of the Galaxy series, etc., is clearly — we shouldn't say — doing well. More precisely, celebrity net worth puts his estimated net worth at a cool net100 million dollars. Fuu
