Kate Middleton and Prince Charles Coronate Side by Side, Showcasing Their Special Bond

The Princess of Wales and the monarch shared a touching moment on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, showcasing their one-of-a-kind relationship during this year's "Trooping the Colors" in honor of King Charles' birthday.

Kate Middleton enjoyed a carriage ride with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, before the royal family appeared alongside one another during the flypast. The Princess of Wales was flanked by her husband, Prince William, and her father-in-law and birthday boy, King Charles. Throughout their appearance on the iconic balcony, Middleton and King Charles never left each other's side, often conversing, exchanging words, smiling, and laughing conspicuously.

Trooping the Colors 2024 was incredibly special as it was Middleton's first public appearance since his brief hospitalization in January and subsequent cancer diagnosis. The ceremony also marked Prince Charles' first coronation since his cancer diagnosis. Instead of riding on horseback with his son Prince William, Prince Charles traveled in a carriage with his wife, Queen Camilla.

Middleton and his father-in-law share a special bond following his cancer diagnosis-in fact, the monarch reportedly found a way to visit with his daughter-in-law earlier this year while both were hospitalized.

"There was a lot of waddling down the hallway to spend time with her while they were in the hospital together," a source told The Times at the time. 'He has always encouraged and supported her. The King has always had a close, warm, and unique relationship with the Princess. She has great love and respect for the King and his position."

Princess Charles was also reportedly moved by the King's response to her cancer diagnosis, especially his decision to speak publicly about his health.

"[She] was inspired to speak out about her diagnosis after seeing Prince Charles' own openness about his condition," the Telegraph reported.

Earlier on June 15, the monarch was reportedly "delighted" to have her "beloved daughter-in-law" on the balcony after it was reported that Princess Charles was scheduled to make a surprise appearance.

"If Kate were to appear on the balcony, it would definitely dominate the news," public relations expert Leah Freeman told GB News.

"But from what I've read and seen, I imagine the King would be delighted to have her there."

King Charles seemed to get his birthday wish after all, and in true serendipitous and perhaps mysterious royal fashion, the weather even seemed to pay homage to the two appearing side by side together.

It rained throughout Trooping the Colour, but as the Royal Family emerged from Buckingham Palace, the clouds parted, the rain lifted, and the sun began to shine.
