Kensington Palace Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Look at Kate Middleton's Return in "Trooping the Colour"

Kensington Palace marked Kate Middleton's return to public life after a six-month absence by releasing a behind-the-scenes look at this year's "Trooping the Colors" ceremony. With the festivities still underway, the Palace released quick videos on its various social media accounts of the royal family preparing for their carriage rides and appearances at the iconic Buckingham Palace. 'All set for the King's birthday parade! the Palace captioned the post, which also showed Kate Middleton standing behind her three children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis) and playing with her daughter's long brown hair.

In another brief fragment, the Princess of Wales again stands behind her well-dressed children as young Prince Louis waves his little royal hand.

Kensington Palace announced that Princess Kate would make a surprise appearance at this year's Trooping the Colour, one day before King Charles' annual birthday celebration. The Palace shocked many as it had recently announced that Middleton would not return to official royal duties until at least the fall, and possibly until 2025.

"I look forward to attending the King's Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to participate in some official duties over the summer.

"I am learning how to be patient. I am taking it one day at a time, listening to my body and allowing myself the time I need to heal."

Middleton continued that she is "making a good process, but like anyone going through chemotherapy, there are good days and bad days."

"On the bad days, you are weak, tired, and have to give in to resting your body. But on good days, you feel stronger and you want to make the most of being well," she continued. 'My treatment is ongoing and will continue for a few more months. On days when I feel well enough, I enjoy participating in school life, spending personal time on things that give me energy and positive feelings, and starting a little work at home."

The Princess of Wales, who appeared at Trooping the Colors, was in good spirits and was often seen smiling and waving to royal onlookers and attendees. The Princess's children were also in high spirits during the ceremony. The 6-year-old prince was seen dancing as he waited to appear on the balcony and waved to the royal family as he rode in the carriage with his siblings and mother. Princess Charlotte, however, gave the royal conspirators a "don't mess with me" look, perhaps out of a sense of protection for her mother in her first public appearance in six months.
