David Beckham has apparently given a definitive answer as to whether or not a Spice Girls reunion tour will happen.
In addition to being a world-class soccer player, David Beckham is also an accomplished party planner and a fabulous Instagram husband; according to Variety, a recent interview with Beckham "took place behind schedule because David was It took place later than planned because David was busy coordinating". She turned 50 in April, and at the party she performed along with four other members of the Spice Girls, the group that made her famous in the 1990s. Beckham published a video of the five performing together on Instagram, "which caused a huge reaction," Variety wrote. [Honestly, I think I was the most excited of anyone," Beckham said after watching the fivesome perform "Stop," which included dancing. '" said Beckham. All of these girls hadn't been on stage together in over 15 years. So all of the girls are there, up on stage, and my youngest son is playing guitar ...... The girls are actually there because I didn't want to make a traditional video with old clips and people saying, 'Happy birthday, Victoria. My idea was to recreate the 'Mom' video, but I wanted it to be just Victoria."
Beckham's Instagram video, as well as continued mysterious material from Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, aka Scary Spice, has increased fans' desire to see the Spice Girls tour together again. (The last time all five performed together after their 2000 breakup was at the 2012 London Olympics, according to Page Six. Victoria has not been on stage with the Spice Girls since then, but the other members went on tour without her in 2019.)
Well, sorry friends, Beckham is here to break your hearts: he called their performance in April "a great moment," but Beckham said of a possible tour, "Unfortunately, it's not happening." Victoria was very happy to see the girls, and they were a big part of her life. But obviously, the girls are all doing their own thing. But Victoria is in the beauty and fashion business full time. If anyone is busier than I am, it's her."
But even though Beckham has dashed hopes of a reunion tour (after all, the Spice Girls turned 30 this year...) ), Beckham made it clear that she was not unwilling to see the Spice Girls reunite. There's nothing I'd like to see more than to see these girls on stage again," he said.
Regarding his wife, Beckham said of her portrayal in the Netflix documentary Beckham, which was released last October, "Victoria came out with this documentary and everyone was like, 'Oh, that's her that David has been saying for the last 27 years.' I think I thought," he said, adding that he was able to see the real Victoria, "not just the part where she's not smiling or where the corners of her mouth aren't up." He added, "That's what I see every day."
Although the treatment of the two in the media has been brutal at times, "I think what I took away from my documentary is how important mental health is," Beckham said. 'Because 20 years ago nobody was talking about it. And nobody took it seriously. For 27 years, people have said things about us. It can be hurtful."
He added, "I was never one to shut up and complain. I've been very lucky to have lived that kind of life throughout my career. I'm very grateful for that. I've been very fortunate to have lived that way throughout my career, and I'm very grateful for that, because when I played well, I got a lot of coverage in the news and in the papers, but it wasn't easy. But it wasn't easy. "
Victoria was reasonably well-known as Posh Spice and as one-fifth of the most famous girl group of the mid-1990s, but while Beckham was still deepening his professional athletic career, she was one half of "Posh & Becks" as a WAG (wife of an athlete and girlfriend) while Beckham was still deepening his professional career. Thinking of Taylor Swift navigating a relationship with a professional athlete (boyfriend Travis Kelce is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, but you knew that), Beckham told Variety, "I hope it improves. It's funny that we're even talking about that. I think the fans were very cruel when Victoria was at the games. They sang about her. But I think Taylor is strong enough to handle whatever comes her way."
Ultimately, Beckham said doing the Netflix documentary was a net positive because fans (and non-fans) got to see him and his family for who they really are, not just as media caricatures. (In addition to Cruz, the Beckhams have three children: sons Brooklyn and Romeo and daughter Harper. They also have a daughter-in-law, Nicola.) Recently, he was at a pub with Victoria when he got out and saw a note on the windshield of her car with no name or address. It said, "I am sorry for the way you have been treated," Beckham said. 'I still have the letter. But I think that was how people felt after the documentary."
