Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's decision to sell their $61 million Beverly Hills mansion may not be due to an impending divorce.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marital home, a $61 million mansion in Beverly Hills that they purchased just last year, is now up for sale, exactly one year after they moved in last June. With divorce rumors abounding, this move certainly does not sound good for the health of their marriage, but according to People, the decision to sell the house may not be as disastrous for their chances of making it work as you might think. In fact, selling the house may even improve the couple's relationship.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the house is 38,000 square feet on five acres, with "12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a 12-car garage, a pool, as well as basketball and pickleball facilities, sports complex with a gym and boxing ring," and "neither of them is satisfied," the magazine reported in May 2023.

"Ben didn't like the house," says a source who spoke to People. 'It's too far from the kids. (Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, Violet, Serafina, and Samuel, and Lopez has twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.) As for Lopez, "the house is too big for her," they added.

People reported last month that Affleck has moved out of the house and is living in a rental a few miles away while filming The Accountant 2. Marie Claire reported that neither Lopez nor Affleck want a divorce, and a source who spoke to People said that the couple, who are navigating what to do with their marriage, remain "amicable" and meet "every few days."

After dating and becoming engaged in the early 1980s, Lopez and Affleck called off their planned September 2003 wedding a few days before it was to take place and parted ways forever in early 2004; they reunited in 2021, became engaged for a second time in April 2022, and the following month, at Affleck's residence in Georgia, in front of family and They were married in Las Vegas in July of that year before getting married for the second time in front of friends.

In May, speculation of marital tension began to heat up when Affleck missed the Met Gala with Lopez, who co-chaired this year's Met Gala, and by the time she also missed the Los Angeles and Mexico City premieres of her latest film, Atlas, from June to August. The scheduled "This Is Me. .Live" tour was canceled so that Lopez could take "time to spend with her children, family, and close friends" and hopefully save her marriage. Lopez and Affleck will celebrate their second wedding anniversary next month.
