Prince Louis offers witty advice to the England national soccer team
Leave it to little Prince Louis to make those Mondays a little brighter. When Prince William took his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to school in Rum Rook today, he apparently asked them what advice they would give the England national team for the 2024 European Championships in soccer (aka Euro 2024). Louis uttered the words he had gleaned as six-year-old wisdom.
According to Us Weekly, William visited the training ground at St. George's Park earlier today, where he spoke with coach Gareth Southgate." I was on my way to school this morning with the kids, and I said, "What do I say to the England team today?" I said. William said. "The best advice I could give them was to eat twice as much as they normally do. And I can just picture you now running around with big bellies and getting stitched up on the pitch."
William added of Louis' quote, "I think you should take your youngest son's advice with a pinch of salt. Two pinches of salt."
England captain Harry Kane responded to Louis' advice with wit.
After an amusing Louis anecdote, William, president of the Football Association (FA), the governing body of the English soccer team, and himself a big soccer fan (as we call soccer in America), encouraged the team in more serious terms: "Tournament football is cruel, It demands more than you guys have already given," he said, noting that Euro 2024 will be "difficult," "fun" and "challenging." (The tournament opens Friday in Germany.)
He continued, "I want you to know how much it means to everyone here that you are out there, giving your all, playing for the shirt, playing for each other, playing for your country. We are really concerned about what you guys are going to do."
Now, if this King thing doesn't work out, at least we know William will be a great motivational speaker...
