Chrissy Teigen shared a powerful, emotional moment with her daughter Luna during an abortion rights event ahead of the 2nd anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

On Thursday, 6/20, the model and entrepreneur attended a question and answer session with Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House. Doctors and other abortion providers, abortion patients, reproductive justice activists and a variety of influencers attended, and Teigen's husband, John Legend, and 8-year-old daughter Luna attended.

At one point during the event, Teigen turned to her daughter and spoke directly to her.

"Luna, my girl, I hope you see all the incredible people — mostly women — in this room, and I hope you want to fight that way for justice when you grow up: without apology, without fear," she said before starting to tear. As Teigen spoke, Legend nodded his head in agreement, and Luna nodded "Yes" in understanding when he put his head on Dad's shoulder.

On Saturday, 6/22, Teigen shared some of her discussions with President Vide on her Instagram page, ending the constitutional right to access abortion care in the United States, with a long caption highlighting the 2nd anniversary of Dobbs's decision....

"We were honored to sit in a room full of @vp and front-line leaders and healthcare providers as we approached the sad iversary of two years of dobbs' decision to overturn roe v wade and decide that we didn't deserve to take control of our own bodies," Teigen wrote. "A few weeks ago I was able to spend the day learning from my beautiful friends at the Feminist Women's Health Center in Atlanta and see the entire breadth of their care, everything from gender-affirming care, sexual health and wellness, mental health care, annual wellness exams, contraception, STI tests and more." "Thank you @feministcenter for teaching me a lot before my visit with Kamala," Teigen concluded. "And thanks to @vp for bringing me in, and thanks to everyone who listened to my unstable, emotional, and terrified voice.

In 2022, Teigen revealed that when she lost her previous pregnancy at 20 weeks of pregnancy, she actually had an abortion to save her life.

"Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear along the way that he would not survive, and that I would not survive without medical intervention," Teigen said, as the Hollywood Reporter first reported.

"Let's call it what it was: it was an abortion," Teigen continued. "Abortion to save my life for a baby who had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I, in fact, never put this together until a few months ago.

Teigen later retweeted the Hollywood Reporter's story and included her own statement.

"I told you all that we miscarried because I thought it was what it was," she said at the time. "But it was an abortion, and we were all heartbroken and grateful at once. It just took me over a year to realize it."
