Sabrina Carpenter is not affected by the post-breakup urge to get a sweeping haircut.

The "Espresso" singer recently gave a video interview to Vanity Fair and spoke to the camera while drawing a self-portrait.

When she started drawing bangs on canvas, she explained, "I literally cut bangs because someone broke my heart, and I was like, 'I have to do something'."

she explained, "I'm not usually one of those people who have to make rash decisions when their feelings hurt, but I think it just caused the first thing like, 'I have to do something different' because it was the first real heartbreak like me."

Carpenter clearly didn't say who broke her heart, but a simple image search showed that she got her first bangs in 2021.

The pop star was barely noticeable about her love life over the years (when Barry Keegan arrived on the scene). But the heartbreak in question may have arisen after his relationship with fellow Disney channel alum Joshua Bassett ended in 2021.

Speaking to Zane Rowe in May about her heartbreak around the time she was linked to Bassett, Carpenter previously said, "For me, it really was my first and I think when you're going through something like that you ask all about yourself and you really want it." I think personally take

that particular romance has been the subject of many fan theories, mostly for Olivia Rodrigo's song "Driver's license," which refers to the love interest "More than Me" (Rodrigo is currently 21-25 years old. Bassett is 23 years old.

Post Bassett, Rodrigo reportedly proceeded with Louis Partridge, although Carpenter is famous for dating Keoghan, the latest music video of "Please Please Please," "Everything goes well, etc.", etc.
