Gail King defends "Really Great Guy" Justin Timberlake after his DWI
Gayle King came to Justin Timberlake's defense after the singer was arrested on DWI charges earlier this week.
"Justin Timberlake is a really, really great guy," King said on CBS morning. "Listen, this is clearly a mistake. I'm sure no one knows it better than him.
The TV host continued, "He is not an irresponsible person. He is not reckless or careless. Obviously, this is not a good thing. He knows it.
King continued to praise Billy Joel for his reaction to the incident.
"I love when they stopped Billy Joel, and Billy Joel said, "You know, wait, not everyone is a judge at this particular time."" "But listen, driving drunk, there is no excuse for that. To date. To date.
When asked to comment on Timberlake's arrest, the "Vienna" singer told PIX11, "The judge lest you be judged."
Timberlake was arrested at Sag Harbor in the Hamptons at 6.18 am and when he was stopped by police, his eyes were "congested and vitreous" and he was arrested in a document that stated that "a strong smell of alcoholic beverages was emanating from his breath."
The singer claimed to police that he had only "one martini" and refused to undergo a sobriety test, according to Us Weekly.
Sag Port Police said in a statement: "Mr. Timberlake was arrested, processed and detained overnight for a morning arraignment. Ms. Timberlake was arrested in 2024 at 6.18 am at 9.30 am at Sag Harbor Village Judicial Court, where he was released in his own recognition."
What's stuck with people, especially online, about this incident is the comments that Timberlake allegedly made when he was arrested.
One source told page 6,"Justin said under his breath, "This would ruin the tour."The policeman replied, "What tour?""Justin said, "The World Tour."
To be fair, it's an undeniably symbolic line.
