Princess Kate is "doing the right thing for her" as she continues cancer treatment, says source
After Kate Middleton won this year's Trooping The Colour ceremony, sources close to the royal family have revealed how the Princess of Wales continues to handle ongoing preventative cancer treatment.
"She is doing the right thing for herself and is recovering personally at home," the insider told people only for the publication's latest cover story. "She's doing the best she can with it."
Before her surprise Trooping the colour look, Princess Kate gave royal fans an update on her health as she continued to treat an unspecified type of cancer,
"I'm making good progress, but as anyone who is going through chemotherapy knows, there are good and bad days," Middleton said. "We are very pleased to announce that Kensington Palace has announced that it will be releasing a statement on its website," the statement said, in a statement shared by Kensington Palace via various social media accounts. "On those bad days you feel weak and tired, and you have to succumb to your body resting. But on a good day, when you feel strong, you want to make the most of your mood.
She went on to say that her "treatment is ongoing and will continue for several more months."
"On days when I feel good enough, I start to engage in school life and spend personal time on things that give me energy and positivity, as well as doing a little work from home.
Princess Kate has reportedly kept her focus on her health while "doing the right thing for her," Royal historian Aman Da Foreman tells people that Prince William and his wife prioritise their privacy more than ever.
"The way they can still command all this secrecy is really impressive," Foreman told the publication. "They are doing this completely.
That "command" has sometimes backfired on the royal family, especially after Kensington Palace shared pictures of Middleton's now infamous Mother's Day. After the photos were found to have been corrected, conspiracy theories and rumors that have been debunked since then permeated the Internet and the company's fears. Prince William has reportedly been "enraged" by endless scrutiny and online attacks, King Charles has revealed that anyone who dares to criticize the Princess of Wales "risks reading riot laws."In a rather unconventional move, Princess Kate even issued a public apology for the photo fiasco.
According to Royal writer Katie Nicol, Middleton's appearance in Trooping The Colour to mark the official birthday of Charles 2 also "paid a toll" on the royal family, despite her joyful demeanor.
"I think there's a huge amount of scrutiny on a day like Saturday, where she knows the eyes of the world are on her. "I think you can imagine that she probably had a long and well-deserved rest later. I don't think you can expect to see her in public for a while. It's going to take some recovery from.
She said that while the Princess of Wales "looked perfect," she was "on her feet for a long time" and at one point "was watching the parade and was offered a seat, but she gratefully accepted.
"It's just a bit of a recognition that she's not as strong and fit as she was before she went into this treatment," Nicole explained.
