Princess Diana "kind of fancy" Kevin Costner, per Prince William
Princess Diana, like the rest of us, did not exceed a little celebrity crush.
In a healthy event, Kevin Costner reveals in a new interview that Prince William once told his mom that he "fantasized" about him.
Speaking to people, Costner recalled how the conversation happened: "I happened to be in England and the prince was talking." I got this message that I want to be a'... And I went, "Okay," he explained.
"We met in this room, and it was just us," he continued. "He walked in and we shook hands... The first line from his mouth was, "You know, my mom kind of fantasized about you."
As you can imagine, this exchange was inspiring for Costner. He called the experience with William, who said he was a "pretty young man" at the time, "very sweet."
But Costner and the late Princess of Wales actually had a friendship IRL, the actor previously told Diana that in the sequel to the 1992 film Bodyguard he and the Princess were clearly in the same kind of capacity as Whitney (Houston in the first film). Although cast, tragically Diana died before the film was made.
Costner told people that it was Diana's friend, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, who introduced them. "It was so sweet," he said. "Sarah was the one who set this up. Sarah was so cool... When she could go, "Well, I'm a princess too." What about me?"She didn't do it at all. Diana and I started talking.
Recalling this story as well as the rest of his life and career, Costner said, "I'll say, "I'm incredibly unusual, and most often, a beautiful life"!
