Jodie Turner Smith is taking pages out of Gwyneth Paltrow's book in the aftermath of her divorce from Joshua Jackson.

The Acolyte actress recently spoke to Cut about her life recently, including what it was like to be away from the father of her child.

At one point during the interview, Turner Smith was asked how she felt about the equal public relationship between Jackson and fellow actress Lupita Nyong'o.

"It's good for them," she said. "We need happiness to be co-parents peacefully. Trying to get back to the level of Gwyneth and Chris Martin I really hope they are happy and that will benefit us as a family.

If you somehow missed this cult moment in history, Paltrow and Martin are famous for being "consciously uncoupled" when they divorced in 2015 — largely to facilitate their split into their two children.

Turner Smith and Jackson were married between 2019 and 2023, and the actress was the one to file for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences."She shares her 4-year-old daughter, Juno.

Speaking to Cut, Turner Smith said she and her ex・husband were on a "different path," and that eventually led to their separation.

Shortly after the divorce filing, a source told Us Weekly that Jackson was blinded by it. "Joshua clearly didn't realize that it was this bad and that Jody was this unhappy," the source said at the time.

On May 2, Turner-Smith officially broke her silence about the divorce and told the Times, "Sometimes things that we really want to work out don't work. And it's okay. The most important thing is to choose the one that is the healthiest for you and your family, and definitely for your children."

Meanwhile, Jackson and Nyongo have reportedly been dating since the end of last year, when one source told weekly magazine, "Joshua and Lupita have been dating for a very short time now. They are focused on keeping their relationship under the radar as much as possible.

The two confirmed the relationship itself when they were taken hand in hand on 12 May.
