Taylor Swift reacts to Simone Biles' use of her song at the Olympic trials.
Taylor Swift is as overwhelmed by Simone Biles as we are.
On Saturday, June 29, the pop star performed her hit song "Ready For It?"
"No matter how many times I watch it, I'm still not ready." on the first day of the 2024 US Olympic Gymnastics Trials. Swift posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, in response to a video of Biles' heart-stopping routine shared by the official NBC Olympic & Paralympic X account.
So far, Swift's response has been retweeted over 6,000 times and liked over 63,000 times
Biles also responded to Swift's response. Biles also retweeted Swift's response.
On Friday, Biles launched into a near-perfect floor routine on the 2017 hit song from Swift's album Reputation. As the song entered the intro, Biles completed a triple-double that one commentator described as "the hardest tumbling pass in the whole world."
Needless to say, Biles was ready.
"There are not many things in sports like watching Simone Biles' floor performance," another Olympic commentator said after Biles finished her performance.
At the end of the first night of competition, the reigning world champion led the pack with a score of 58.900.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Biles opened up about life in the spotlight after winning 37 Olympic and World Championship medals.
"I wouldn't say [people] scream and line up as if I'm Taylor Swift, but [I still] get a lot of attention," she told the magazine at the time. "When five people are coming up to me and rushing around to take pictures, I get a little panicky. I get anxious."
Media attention undoubtedly became a frenzy for the athlete after she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics.
In the same interview, Biles talked about life as the wife of NFL player Jonathan Owens and the increased media attention at pro football games last year when Swift began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Last year, a matchup between Biles' husband and Kelce brought Biles and Swift to the stands.
"It's a little weird because this is definitely not my job," Biles said of the fan frenzy over the posters she and Swift attended and even featured her face.
"But I know how excited [the fans] are."Biles went on to say that "no selfies" of Biles and Swift were taken before, during, or after the game, adding that the two were sitting in separate sections.
