Prince Charles posted a heartfelt message on Instagram to all those affected by the storm, saying in part that the royal family was "deeply saddened to learn of the terrible destruction" caused by the storm.

"In particular, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of those who have so cruelly lost their lives," the King continued in the document. I have witnessed the extraordinary resilience and spirit of solidarity shown by the Caribbean people in the face of such destruction."

"Please know that in this most difficult time, our most special thoughts and prayers are with all those whose lives, livelihoods, and property have been utterly devastated," the monarch concluded.

Sources told People that in addition to Prince William and Kate Middleton's financial contributions, Prince Charles will "also make a charitable donation to the recovery and relief efforts in the area."

The King has also reportedly been asked to stay "informed of all developments and to speak with community leaders to express his sympathy and support."
