Emma Roberts Says Aunt Julia Roberts' Classic Movies Are a Comfort When She's Alone

Emma Roberts has a favorite comfort movie to watch when she's alone.

In a recent interview with Variety, the American Horror Story star revealed that she makes the most of her alone time by watching her aunt Julia Roberts' classic movies.

"When I'm on location and alone, I watch her movies. I have her movies downloaded on my computer, and I watch them to heal," Emma Roberts told the magazine at the time. My Best Friend's Wedding and America's Sweethearts are my safe movies."

In addition to relying on her aunt's Hollywood masterpieces, the actress admitted that she liked actually working with her aunt on movies and TV shows.

"I want to find the perfect project for me and my aunt, and I'm sure we'll find something," she explained. But it's never the right thing to do."

Emma Roberts praised her aunt, telling the magazine: "She's the best and I want to do something with her."

"We would send each other books and talk about things, but it just wasn't right," she added.

The 33-year-old actress hopes to one day work with her famous aunt, but she recently admitted that as a Hollywood star, she has never wanted to fully emulate her aunt.

"I've never wanted to be [my aunt]," Emma said in an interview with Tatler in 2022.

In an interview that recently resurfaced online, Julia Roberts spoke about the ugly side of fame, especially when it manifests itself through online social media hate.

"One weekend morning I posted a picture I took with my niece: it was awesome. Pointing to a photo of Emma and Julia playing cards, Julia Roberts explained. [And a funny thing happened. The amount of people who felt it was absolutely necessary to talk about how awful I look in the picture, how I haven't aged well, how I look like a man," she continued. 'I'm a 60-year-old woman, and I know who I am, and still my feelings were hurt. I was so hurt that people couldn't understand the point of that picture, the sweetness, the absolute radiant joy."
