Amal Clooney vacations in a precious vintage Versace dress.
For a timeless style icon like Amal Clooney, even St. Tropez can't rest on its closet. Spotted dining at Jardin Tropezina with her husband George Clooney over the weekend, the human rights lawyer wore a vintage Versace dress from the Spring/Summer 2004 collection.
The pink chiffon mini was adorned with feminine ruffle trim, a tiered asymmetrical skirt, and a wrapped V-neckline. The pattern featured a bold floral pattern in orange, yellow, fuchsia, and a hint of lime green. Upon closer inspection, the toile blended into the background, depicting the brick exterior of the building.
Versace's Spring/Summer 2004 collection, dubbed "Diva Alert" by Donatella, was filled with bright neon colors, frilly ruffles, wide open necklines, exposed midriffs, hip-hugging silhouettes, and lots of frills. It was filled to the brim. Coincidentally, Ice Spice wore a tangerine-colored gown from this retro collection to the BET Awards on Sunday, June 30.
Clooney paired her enhanced sundress with nude peep-toe high heels, a small white shoulder bag, and oversized brown ombre aviator sunglasses. Her long hair was styled in moderate beachy waves.
The attorney is also known as a collector of vintage fashion. At last year's DVF Awards, she wore a peach lace and tulle gown from the Fall 2000 collection created by John Galliano for Christian Dior. Also last year, she wore a canary yellow dress from the 1993 Versace collection and a white bridal-style slip from the Spring/Summer 1999 Christian Dior by John Galliano collection. She has also been known to wear a vintage Dior skirt suit when speaking at the United Nations.
Some of Clooney's clothes are decades old: a Balmain coat from the 1960s, a red Dior shift dress from the 1970s, and a black Yves Saint Laurent sequin gown from 1981.
