Lady Kitty Spencer finally reveals her daughter's name more than three months after announcing her birth.
Lady Kitty Spencer, niece of the late Princess Diana and eldest daughter of Earl Charles Spencer, has finally revealed her daughter's name, months after confirming the birth, the Mirror reported.
Yesterday, Spencer finally revealed the newborn's name in an Instagram post of a black-and-white photo of the two "sitting on the edge of a window together," the Mirror wrote. The girl glanced out the window while being held by her loving mother. 'Athena watching the world go by,' Spencer wrote, effectively accompanying it with a white heart emoji."
Spencer announced that she had given birth on Mother's Day earlier this year, but withheld her daughter's name. Spencer is "notorious for staying out of the spotlight," wrote the Mirror, but on Mother's Day (celebrated every March in the UK, this year falling on March 10), she again wrote on Instagram, "Being your mom is the joy of my life. I love you unconditionally. Happy Mother's Day.
Seeing what her aunt, perhaps the most famous woman in the world, went through, and what her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry and their wives still endure today, it may not be surprising that Spencer chose to stay out of the limelight. She has revealed why she rarely speaks about her personal life, saying, "For me, love is the most important thing in the world. Love is the most important thing in the world to me, and by not talking about it, I'm protecting it from my heart. I am just looking forward to a really happy family life: a happy marriage and happy children. And I'm very comfortable with the way things are unfolding as they should be."
Spencer has remained private about her relationship with husband Michael Lewis, but the Dolce & Gabbana spokesmodel showed off a total of five custom-made dresses for her wedding to him in Italy in July 2021. The glamorous wedding lasted three days, and the couple welcomed Athena in 2023, though the exact date is unclear. Spencer revealed that she became a mother in March, but the public only learned the baby's gender after her sister, Lady Eliza Spencer, commented on that Instagram post, "My perfect little niece," according to Tatler. Eliza's twin sister, Lady Amelia Spencer, also proudly commented that the baby was "the most perfect angel in the world."
