Serena Williams hurls barbs at Harrison Butker while hosting ESPY

Serena Williams is not a fan of Harrison Butker, to say the least.

The tennis legend hosted the ESPY Awards on Thursday. At one point, she was joined on stage by her sister Venus Williams and actress Kinta Brunson to discuss women's sports.

Venus told the crowd, "So enjoy women's sports just like any other sport."

Serena said.

Serena said, "Except you, Harrison Butker. Harrison Butker, we don't need you," to which the audience laughed hysterically.

Brunson also offered his thoughts on the controversial NFL player, saying, "Totally. Totally. [Backer, a kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, offended many people when he gave a commencement speech at Catholic Benedictine College in Atchinson, Kansas, a few months ago.

There he implied that female graduates, despite having just received their degrees, were more concerned about starting a family than starting a career.

"I want to address you directly and briefly because I think it is you, the women, who are being subjected to the most diabolical lies," he told the crowd.

"How many of you are sitting here right now, about to cross this stage, thinking about the promotions and titles that you are going to get in your careers?"

"Some of you may go on to have successful careers in the world, but I dare to guess I suspect that most of you are most looking forward to marriage and the children you will bring into this world."

His speech also included remarks that commenters deemed "homophobic" and "transphobic."

Understandably, people were outraged online.

Also, many celebrities, including Maren Morris, Flavor Flav, Hoda Kotb, and Maria Shriver, expressed their frank opinions of Bakker's speech.

Last night's ESPY was much appreciated thanks to Serena's A+ hosting skills, her stunning red carpet look, and her shout-out to her best friends, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex was in attendance to receive the Pat Tillman Distinguished Service Award and enjoyed a rare public date with the Duchess.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was also a big winner on the night, receiving the Best Male Athlete Award.
